2012 All Spokes Festival - Rider Information
Below you will find some helpful information for this weekends Great Hunter Cycling Classic. If you still wish to enter, read below for information on how to enter. We look forward to seeing you all in the Hunter for a fantastic day!
* Please note the event promoters have a surprise in planning before the start of the Great Hunter Cycling Classic on Sunday. Be at the start line at 8:00am to see what it is... it's going to get the blood pumping!
EVENT DATES
Saturday May 19th: Xstrata Cycling NSW Criteriums & Broke Fordwich Great Hunter Hill Climb Classic
Sunday May 20th: Xstrata Great Hunter Cycling Classic
EVENT SIGN ON
All riders must sign on in order to receive their race numbers, timing chip and goodies bag!
Criterium & Hill Climb - Saturday
- Where: Start / Finish line, corner Archer and Cochrane Street.
- When: 7:30am - 2pm. Sign on will them move to accommodate riders signing on for Sunday's event.
Xstrata Great Hunter Cycling Classic - Saturday & Sunday
- Where: Mercure Hotel, Broke Rd, Pokolbin (we will be located in room on the left before you reach Hunter Valley Gardens, there will also be flags out)
- When: Saturday 3.00pm – 6.00pm & Sunday 6.30am onward.
- Existing Members- bring your CA/CNSW license.
- New Members- make sure you sign your new ‘ride it’ license for insurance purposes when collecting your pack.
We strongly encourage all riders to sign on, on Saturday afternoon in order to avoid wait times.

BROKE FORDWICH GREAT HUNTER HILL CLIMB CLASSIC

XSTRATA GREAT HUNTER CYCLING CLASSIC COURSE DISTANCES
A challenging but friendly 19km Fun Ride caters for families or those who may have a “little rust” on their body or bike, to a 60km short course ride for the more energetic/competitive, right up to the 100km Long Course for the elite cyclists looking for distance and Cycling NSW Road Series Points. The above map is 1 lap of the circuit, 19km.
RIDER NUMBERS
All riders will receive 2 race numbers.
1 number is to be placed on your left running length ways, and 1 number is to be placed on your lower back. See pictures below.
Do not:
- Place your numbers upside down!
- Place your number so they can not be viewed!
- Scrunch your numbers up!
- Place your numbers on your front.
XSTRATA GREAT HUNTER CYCLING CLASSIC START TIMES
o Fun ride – 7.30am (marshal 7.20am)
o Long Course – 8.20am (marshal 8.10am)
o Short Course – 8.30am (marshal 8.20am)
*You must be signed on ATLEAST 30minutes prior to your allocated start time.
START / FINISH LOCATION
All three events will start and finish outside the Hunter Valley Gardens on Broke Rd, Pokolbin.
LUCKY DOOR PRIZES
At the completion of your event, be sure to return your timing chip. When returning the timing chip place your numbers into the box to be part of the lucky door prizes which will be drawn mid morning.
XSTRATA GREAT HUNTER CYCLING CLASSIC PRIZE MONEY
1ST – 3RD placings will be paid in all categories (male and female) providing there are more then 3 starters in that category.

Prize money will be available for collection on the day of the event. Please be patient a results need to be compiled and checked before any money can be handed out.
LATE ENTRIES
New and existing members can still enter the Great Hunter Cycling Classic at the sign on desk.

Long Course $85
Late entries must fill in a entry form upon arrival at sign on. Payment can be made via cash or credit card.
PLEASE NOTE- late entries will not receive an event bag due to limited stock.
