Organisers of the 2008 Peak Coffee NSW Masters Road Championships are excited by the initiative of Cycling NSW in introducing the NSW Masters Club Shield at this year’s event on the 17^th & 18^th  May.  

Cycling NSW announced that the new Club Pointscore Competition will be introduced in 2008 for the NSW Masters Road and Criterium Championships. 

All riders from NSW clubs competing in the event will be awarded points towards their clubs for just starting a  race as well as the top ten placings.

At the end of the event one club will take home the Prestigious perpetual shield  to display in their club house over the following year.  With record numbers of competitors expected at this year’s event the Club Shield will be sure to be a hotly contested competition.

The Shield tally will be based on the following awarded points;

Road Race Championships

Start = 5 points

Results (1^st to 10^th)  = 30, 25, 20, 15, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 5 

Criterium Championships

Start = 3 points

Results (1^st to 5^th) = 20, 15, 12, 10, 9
