2008 UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships


 

The 14th annual UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships 2008 will be staged at the Dunc Gray Velodrome, Sydney Australia from the 14th – 19th October. This year’s event will include a Cycling Expo on the weekend of the Championships, 18th-19th October.

 

The Championships are for riders 30 years and over, competing in 5 year age categories for both men and women with each age group competing over 5 individual disciplines. These include the Time Trial, Sprint, Pursuit, Points Race and Scratch Race. Men can also participate in the Team Sprint event. There will be almost 90 world championships contested over the 6 days of competition.

 

Hosted by the Bankstown Sports Club, last years event staged for the first time ever in Australia was an outstanding success, attracting a record number of 425 riders, including 190 international competitors from 25 countries.
