Budget Forklifts and Shotz Sports Nutrition Team for the 2008 NRS
With the exciting release of details of the Cycling Australia revamped 2008 NRS Team Series, Budget Forklifts and Shotz Sports Nutrition have fast tracked plans to back an Elite Men’s Cycling team to contest the major events on the Australian Domestic Cycling scene. With Cycling Australia guaranteeing increased exposure for the 2008 series with the announcement that SBS TV has agreed to broadcast half-hour highlights packages of the five NRS team events, both Budget Forklifts and Shotz Sports Nutrition are keen to increase their commitment to Australian Cycling. Team owners Tim Leunig and Darryl Griffiths admit to having to push things along to be ready for Round 1 of the NRS team Series which gets under way on 30 July with the Tour of Gippsland, but both plan to be there in person to see what is expected to be the birth of an exciting new elite team for Australia. International level coach Mark Windsor (level 3 NCAS) has been approached to step in and manage the Team Budget Forklifts group at Gippsland and is very excited about the NRS Team Competition in 2008; “ Cycling Australia’s aim to provide increased exposure for team & event sponsors along with the promotion of the sport & the national series through the Television Coverage is a giant step in the expansion of the Sport in Australia”. “The development of an elite domestic team competition is the next step in the growth of cycling in Australia, and the promoters, sponsors and team owners should be praised for their involvement”. Team Budget Forklifts members will contest the third round of the NRS Individual Series at Muswellbrook on the 20.07.08 in preparation for the Victorian tour, with the initial team roster for Tour of Gippsland:-

Look set to join Shotz Sports Nutrition as major supporters of the Team who will make their debut at the 2008 Tour of Gippsland. Team Budget Forklifts officials elated with news, given the quality of the Look machines. Riders guaranteed a level of performance from the bicycles that will see them at their best in the National Road Series events.
