McDonalds 48th Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic

The promoter of the McDonalds 48th Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic would like to announce a exciting team entry for the race on Saturday 20th September 2008.

Germany’s LKT Team Brandenburg have confirmed their entry into this year’s race.  The professional team, headed by World Championship Silver and Bronze medallist, Roger Kluge will bring it’s best six riders for the September 20th race.

The team hails from Cottbus, the same town the Ambassador and Sponsor of A Grade for the McDonalds Grafton to Inverell, Heinrich Haussler started his junior career.  The promoter, Inverell Cycle ‘n’ Tri Inc are very appreciative of the contact and help from Heinrich Haussler (Pro Tour Gerolsteiner) to get the team out to Australia.  It shows his commitment to the Grafton to Inverell.

Heinrich said the team’s primary mission is the 228km race.  It will be a magnificent boost for the race and a fantastic opportunity for the Australian continental teams to race against a team of their standard without leaving Australia.

The team is currently racing in France and Spain and Kluge is preparing for the Beijing Olympics.  The team will arrive earlier and will be joined by Kluge once he completes his Olympic Games campaign.

Kluge won a silver and bronze medal at the World Championships in Los Angeles.

The team will be accompanied by director Michael Max and team manager Steffen Blochwitz.  Blochwitz was Haussler’s former manager before he joined Team Gerolsteiner.
