to come
Want to join the RAW Track Party as a sponsor
Drop me an email and I will send you an info package
What’s New for 2008?
I have two new races
1lap2win
-
To win this
race all you need to do is lead the race for one full lap!
-
The rider who
crosses the start finish line first owns the lap and is the only rider
who can win the race.
-
If this rider
leads across the line at the completion of the lap he/she has won the
race and will pull out.
-
This will
continue until we have the top 4 place getters
Dueling Dernys
Or
Devil comes down to Bass Hill
-
This is a motor
paced event where by the Derny will start off at a respectable speed
(40km/h) with the entire field in a pace line
-
As riders
approach the front of the pace line (back of the derny) they must put
their front wheel ahead of the Derny by the pursuiters line in the back
straight.
-
They must then
maintain the lead by the Pursuiters line in the front straight
-
If a rider
fails to achieve this they are eliminated from the race
-
The final four
riders to beat the derny will claim the top 4 places
-
The winner is
not necessarily the last man standing
New Website
-
The New RAW
Track website is on its way
What’s back in 2008?
Spectators
-
Spectators in
2008 will again be able to view the exciting racing from the grandstand
-
The DGV
management has allocated the bay on the start/finish line for RAW Track
-
It is a strict
requirement that this area be left clean after each RAW Track
-
Spectators are
again free in 2008
Team’s night
-
Over the last
two years some of the best racing was on the Teams Night
-
On two
occasions this year the feature event will be a Teams night.
-
When you sign
on you will be placed in one of six teams (Red , Blue, Orange, Green,
Yellow or Purple)
-
We will pick
the teams randomly.
-
Normal racing
is conducted
-
Every Race will
score 5,3,2 and 1 point for 1st to 4th
-
The final event
will be an Italian Pursuit.
-
1st
on points will race 2nd on points for the win
-
3rd
will ride against 4th for 3rd place and so on
-
Teams will
score bonus points for the series
-
Individual
riders will still earn standard points for the series point score
-
The idea of
this night is to promote cross division friendships.
-
I guarantee
that our Div 1 riders will be watching the Div 4 race intently and
visa-versa.
Div 1 200m fly
-
On two
occasions this year I will be having a 200m fly night for Div 1.
-
This will have
to be done on a strict system to ensure that this event does not become
a massive time consumer.
-
The RAW Track
200m fly record holder is Daniel Ellis with 11.01sec
-
With the fly
being conducted on two occasions Div 1 riders will have a chance to
compare their form over the season.
Money troubles?
-
If you are
experiencing money troubles please do not hesitate in approaching me so
we can come to an arrangement.
-
I would much
prefer to see you race than stay home.
-
In the past I
have had reduced rates for families, pensioners and uni students in
confidentiality.
Featured Wheelrace
-
Each week we
have a featured wheelrace that rotates through the divisions
-
The Sponsor has
naming rights
-
Wheelrace
Prizes will always exceed $100 in value.
Special nights
-
As per previous
years the last Friday of each month will contain a Madison
-
The second
Friday of each month will be Kierin night which will also
incorporate the now infamous Miss’N’Out Point score.
-
Every second
Friday will feature a Time Blaster
Beer on tables
-
Again in 2008
each week I will purchase $50 worth of beer for our tables in the HBT

The FNWTR Website still exists

The Hillbrick Series
-
Paul Hillbrick
from Hillbrick racing frames has once again shown his support to Cycling
in Australia with the return of the Hillbrick series.
-
Last year this
event was won by Gary Mandy
-
The Format will
be the similar to last year
-
Dates have not
been confirmed as of yet so stay tuned to news letters for announcements
-
First Prize is
a complete Hillbrick Track Bike

The “Time Blaster” and “Last Man Standing”
-
Last year these
events have been sponsored by Maersk Logistics, CNSW and Ivan Colig
Mortgage consultant.
-
As of yet I
have been a bit slack and not approached the above mentioned businesses
for a renewal of sponsorship.
-
Nevertheless
this event will run again in 2008
-
If I do not manage to renew sponsors, I will reduce the prize money
and/or seek new sponsors
So what is
the "Time-Blaster"?
-
In previous years, one of the most competitive races was the night
ending A+B combined 30 lapper.
-
3 years ago I
hoped to make this race even more spectacular by making every second
week’s final race the "Time-Blaster Challenge"
-
It has proven
to be extremely successful.
-
The time for
the 7.5km race continually increased and ended with a ridiculously fast
52km/hr race to conclude the series
-
Alex Carver
Holds the record at 8min 40 sec
-
In this race
the winner can collect prize money ($100) as long as the winning time
breaks the previous record.
-
What if the
time is not fast enough? The money jackpots for the next challenge in
one fortnights time (making it $200).
-
This Race will
start week 1. On the even weeks the A+B combine will have no prize
money.
-
The first
“Time-Blaster Challenge" time is 9 minutes 05 seconds which
is a mere 48.5km/hr. Beat this time and the winner of the race scores
$100….sponsorship pending.
LAST MAN STANDING
Prize
-
Each week of
the Time Blaster the final Div 2 rider to be dropped will be deemed
the "Last Man Standing"
-
This Div 2
rider will receive the special cash prize so long as final time is
successful in the Time Blaster.
-
If the group
fails to beat the time, the
"Ivan
Colig LAST MAN STANDING Prize" Jackpots for the next
week.
Divisions
-
Again this year
I intend to have 5 divisions. If numbers substantially increase more
divisions will be introduced.
-
Div 1-
Serious “hard-core” top class athletes. This division hosts a number of
Australian champions.
-
Div 2-
Only slightly easier. This division hosts some former and current Master
World medalists.
-
Div 3-
Now we’re talking. This grade has fast racing for riders who race hard
but train soft.
-
Div 4-
Love your racing but hate to train. This division is for those who are
learning or those who just enjoy the fun.
-
Novice/Div5-
This is for first timers
Novice Grade / division 5
-
Three years ago
a novice grade was introduced and proved to be extremely successful.
-
In fact we now
have Australian Representatives who started track racing in Div 5
-
Two years ago
Kaarle McCullock did her first FNWTR race in Div 5 Now she is Australian
Sprint Champion and possible Olympic rider.
-
Novice races
are usually of a simple nature and are intended to be less competitive.
-
Each night
there will be 3 novice races
-
Novice riders
are not eligible to ride the round 5 combines
-
Novice riders
earn entry points but do not accumulate placing points towards the
point score
Personalised numbers
-
As per previous
years you will be able to get your own cool number to keep.
-
Riders who
already have a number please re-book your number for 2008.

Kids at the DGV
o
As
always I encourage spectators and kids to be a part of the FNWTR experience
o
However over the years, DGV management have found Kids in places they
shouldn’t have been.
o
One
of these occasions directly resulted in the break-down of the elevator.
o
My
2008 contract again stipulates that “Children must be supervised”
o
Penalties apply if this is not adhered too.
o
Please help out in this area by making sure your Children know the do’s and
don’ts of the venue and be extra vigilant.
And thanks to.
