Ever wanted to see what it’s like to ride on a banked, timber, indoor velodrome? Particularly, such a velodrome that was built for and used by the Sydney Olympics 2000? Well, CNSW is giving you the chance.Try the Track sessions are available under the direction of Barrie McLean, one of our accredited Level Two cycling coaches with many years of experience.
The Dunc Gray Velodrome is a state of the art venue, considered to be one of the best velodromes in the world. The 42 degree banking provides a great challenge and really gets the adrenalin pumping and it has a roof, so there are no concerns about bad weather cancellations!
Sessions are available by arrangement on weekdays between 9am and 5pm and are designed for people who have no experience riding on a banked track. Riders participating must be competent riding a road and/or mountain bike and be able to maintain 30km/h for 5 to 10 minutes to negotiate the banked track.
Sessions last from 90 minutes to two hours depending on rider fitness.
The Fine Print:
Groups of five (5) are the best size for a Try-The-Track Coaching session. The maximum size group is eight (8) to ensure each rider gets quality time on the track and for safe management of the group. For possible weekend sessions, please inquire with Barrie below (additional costs may apply).
What to bring:
