Masters Commission News
NSW Masters Club Shield 2008 – Congratulations to Hunter District CC The Masters Club Shield was introduced by Cycling NSW for the first time at the 2008 Road & Criterium Championships held at Port Macquarie, and will be awarded each year going forward.
Starting points are awarded to each starter in each Masters category plus points are awarded for each Championship result (road race is the first ten placings, criterium is the first five placings). Where categories are combined due to insufficient riders in a category to make up a Championship then points will only be awarded on the combined Championship event.
The 2009 Masters Road & Criterium Championships will be held at Moruya (near Batemans Bay).
The Masters Club Shield combined both road and criterium results on the following basis -
Road Race Championships Start = 5 points, Results (1st to 10th) = 30, 25, 20, 15, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 5 Criterium Championships Start = 3 points, Results (1st to 5th) = 20, 15, 12, 10, 9 The pointscore tally for the 2008 Masters Club Shield can be located at the following link.
