Results

0 km It's a lovely morning in Goulburn, the temperature is a warm 19', the day is overcast and there is no wind to talk of
1 We are exiting Goulburn under neutral conditions and Luke Strom has a flat tyre. It appears the commissaires are going to wait for Strom before dropping the flag
4 The riders are rolling down the freeway descending into the valley of Goulburn
7.6 The flag has been dropped and the riders have put the pace on
10 We've reached the first hill of the day, it's a short rolling hill however the bunch has decided to power over the hill and we have dropped our first few riders for the day
11 Descending the hill we are reaching 70kph
11.8 Ben Hallowell has a flat tyre and will be lucky to return to the bunch as the riders are powering along the freeway
20 Our first decent climb of the day is a longer hill and 14 riders are quickly ejected from the 170 strong peloton
21 The autobus has formed off the back of the peloton and has 200m lead. The riders are Peter Cooper, Fred McClelland, Daniel McGuigan, Julian Townsend, Jarrod Crosby, Greg Tesoriero, and Justin Young. Hopefully they will wait for the other riders and help them reach the 10 minute cut off at Berima.
24 The bunch is making its way over the rolling hills of the Southern Highlands. Currently there is a group of 6 sitting 150m off the front with a peloton being pulled along by team workers
27 The peloton brings the break back without any hassle and the pace remains high
30 The riders have decided that it is a good time to eat and
39 Another group has decided to have an attempt at moving away however the peloton is determined to maintain this high pace over the rolling hills
46 The race has averaged 47kph for the first hour and it looks like a breakaway with a mixture of teams will be the only successful movement today.
49.3 A fall at the rear of the bunch has brought down Ben Massa and Tim Packer
52 Titans has lost Miles Watson and Ben Massa has withdrawn following his crash
53 James McDulling is unlucky to have a flat tyre as the RTA appear to have done a good job of sweeping the roads of debris
53.5 Warwick Edwards has lost contact with the bunch as they go over the crest of one of the hills
54 The bunch is now very long as they climb the next hill at 63kph. Simon Hammond, Mark Thompson and Ben Trojko have lost contact due to the pace over the hill
57 A break of 9 are off the front with Drapac well represented by Dean Windsor, Lachlan Morton and Peter McDonald however Praties are sitting on the front and appear determined to keep the race together
63 We're all together again and pace isn't letting off at all
68 Ben Grieve Johnson of Praties is hovering around the rear of the pack, it looks like he has ridden his role for today
70 We have a lone Budget rider off the front, he must be hoping some riders will join him
72 Lachlan Morton and Peter McDonald are riding across however McDonald has a flat tyre and Morton stops to help Peter return to the bunch
73 The riders have decided to have a nature break, and while a few riders decide not to stop, it doesn't look like the bunch is likely to break up
76 Peter McDonald has returned to the bunch without any dramas. The teams have allowed the independent riders to take the front for a few minutes
80 The riders are passing through the feed station and there have been no incidents we can see. A pair of Ben Mikic Foundation riders have skipped the feed and are trying to raise the pace on the front
82 Peter MacDonald has put in an attack on the next hill and has quickly pulled a 50m gap on the bunch
84 Peter's gap is now 100m and 5 riders are looking to jump across. This is the first major acceleration we have seen for the day
86 Ben Day, Cameron Jennings, Ben Brooks and Hayden Brooks have jumped across to McDonald and the gap is 150m
88 4 riders have decided to make the effort to join the lead group of 5
91 The bunches are passing through Mittagong and Drapac has decided to take up the chase. A crash at the rear while passing through Mittagong has seen the withdrawal of Tasmanian Harrie Rassie
93 The peloton is racing down the hills north of Mittagong and under the historic bridges of Mittagong and is pulling the brwak back into the fold
100 We have a small break of a a Drapac and a Praties rider off the front with 5 chasing. The lead 2 are waiting for the chase group
101 We have a lead group of 7 riders with 1 lone chasing rider making inroads into the break's lead
107 The lone rider has joined the group and we have Brad Hall, James Ibrahim, Ben Brooks, Jason Rigg, Sam Moorhouse, Richard Lang, Dean Windsor and Brendan Schultz leading the race at 60 seconds
114 Fly V Australia have missed the break and have reduced the gap to 25 seconds
118 The gap is 9 seconds and it looks like this break will fail as well
119 The race is quickly passing through the town of Bargo and the break is still hovering off the front. Richard Lang has won the sprint in front of James Ibrahim
119 The race has come together and immediately a counter attack is launched. The pace is on and the bunch is splitting up
121 is splintered as they race through the outskirts of Bargo
127 The rear of the peloton is regathering however we have 2 riders out the front with a group of 6 in pursuit
128 The race is together again and the road is heading downhill to raise the speed for anyone on the back who thought perhaps we couldn't be going any faster
129 The decent has the race travelling at 60kph
130 The race has averaged 47 for the first 3 hours but is likely to slow with the 2 climbs of Razorback now in sight
134 The riders are passing through a neutral water station not far from the base of the first climb of Razorback
135 The riders have regrouped after the water station and they appear to be watching each other for the next move
137 The first climb of Razorback appears to be fairly gentle. They are sitting on 35kph and the riders are starting to be spread out however the leaders are setting a high pace as thy watch each other
140 The riders are approaching the top and we haven't seen any surges but the riders are in a very long line with the Drapac Porsche Riders on the front. David Treacy has suffered a mechanical near the KOM
140 The first KOM on Razorback was won by Dale Scarfe over Peter McDonald and Bernard Sulzberger
141 The riders have started descending the hill for the first time and Darren Benson has crashed on one of the corners
143 The race has reformed into 3 bunches with the front 2 racing towards the second lap of Razorback
144 The lead group is only 10 second in front of the chasers while the autobus is 15 min behind the lead group and may struggle to climb razorback within the 20 min cut off
150 The riders have starting the final climb are the only grouping of riders is sitting on the front dropping riders quickly
152 Malcolm Rudolph has attacked the bunch as they rode through the pinch on the windy part of the narrow climb. The young Budget Forklift rider has pulled a handy lead on the peloton
153 Rudolph has won the KOM on Razorback  with Peter McDonald in 2nd and Sulzberger in 3rd again. McDonald has won the KOM competition and will receive a 30 bonus for his team at the finish
158 The lead group includes Peter Herzig, Elliott Wells, Chris Jory, Fly V sprinter Jonathon Cantwell, Cameron Peterson, Steven Robb, Blair Martin, Richard Lang, Cameron Jennings, Peter McDonald, Daniel Alcock, William Clarke, Darren Rolfe, Hayden Brooks, Brad Hall, and the chasing pack is Bernard Sulzberger, Gene Bates, Chris Jory, Matthew Marshall, Blair Martin, Ben Dyball, Lachlan Morton and Johann Esterhuyzen at 40 seconds and closing
165 Fly V Australia have launched a rider off the front of the lead group however the chasing group has the leaders in sight on the long straights heading into Camden
166 As the leaders Camden the chase bunch has made contact with the lead group and Peter McDonald has an attempt at getting away.
168 The race is entering the main street of Camden to receive a warm welcome.
169 Richard Lang receives a lead out from his Budget Forklifts team and Lang jumps clear of the group to win the sprint by several lengths
