Cootamundra Haycarters Handicaps
The time honoured Cootamundra Haycarters Weekend will go ahead as proposed on the 10th & 11th May 2008. At one stage it looked as though it may have had to give way to the Canberra Tour, but that was avoided after much panic from our Club, but now we are looking forward to running another cracker weekend of racing and anticipate a good field. Our weekend caters for all comers and as we only run handicap events, riders that may have a tough mark on the first day (usually if they have been incorrectly graded by their Club) those riders will be given a revised h/cap for the next day. Mostly the marks allocated are fairly good and we look forward to that again this year. The courses are fairly challenging with the Sat. being 70 kms, undulating, and fast on the homeward leg. it is a loop course and takes in some great country (that's if you have time to look around) Sundays race is 80 kms and although further is easier as it is mainly fairly flat. It is an out and back course, with a climb 10 kms from the start and finish. We try and get all things finalised by 1pm to allow everyone to get home early. This race has grown from a 40-50 rider interclub event to a hugely supported open double header event with 220 entries last year. We welcome cyclists again this year and advise to book accommodation early to secure a bed and avoid disappointment. Information can be found on the Cootamundra Shire Website and just follow the links to the tourist info site or I can be contacted at work on. 0269423057 or email me on zloit@ozemail.com.au We as a club look forward to another great year of racing and our Annual Coota Classic has been programmed again for the last weekend in August as it has been for the last 51 years and this year it coincides with Sir Donald Bradmans 100th birthday celebrations (as Sir Don was born in Coota), so keep that one in mind as well and book early as it will be a busy weekend. |

Rule of the Week: Race Entry Procedures
|
To assist members in entering NSW events for the road season, below are some definitions of terms used when entering an event.
Close-Off date- is 2 weeks before the event date and is in place to give handicappers and race organisers time to organise the race. Entries for Open handicaps and NSW championship events will not be accepted after the close-off date. Late entries for Open scratch events attract late fees. Refund cut-off date- is 8 days prior to the event and is the cut-off for withdrawals to receive a refund or race credit. Notification should be sent to brian.crawford@cycling.org.au. Cycling NSW pays out the entry fees to the host club and is unable to give riders race credit if they withdraw after the refund cut-off date. Riders who wish to apply for a refund after this date need to apply directly to the host club. Race Credits- are accrued by riders when events are cancelled, if they withdraw from an event before the close-off date, if the members of their family affiliated as a family group. A file is maintained at CNSW to monitor the balances of each individual and can be checked by contacting the office. Redemption of race credits is by entering races by fax and writing "please use race credits first" at the bottom of the entry.
Entries are taken via the NSW Online Entry system or using a manual entry form. |
