Riders graded C and below have the option to ride the NSW Championships but have the option to ride the Kurrajong Classic if they wish.

Feed station is after the left turn onto Blaxlands Ridge Rd (after the KOM).

What a day for Sydney's weather to change. Riders were greated by what some people might call lovely rain, but for cyclist contesting the NSW State Road Championships & the Kurrajong Classic run by Parramatta Cycling Club, it was nasty.

Rain fell the whole day, at times a downpour. But this didn't stop the riders who braved the weather to make the most of it. The club that did make the most of the day was Northern Suburbs Cycling Club (NSCC). They left at the end of the day, with 3 State titles, 4 wins in total, 2 x 2nds & 2 x 5th places. Brendan Jones

Katie JonesAnd to top it off 2 titles have gone to the 1 family, Katie Jones started the day with winning the Womens race & at the same time taking the U/19 womens title. Not to be outdone by his younger sister, Brendan ended the day taking the overall win in the Elite division & securing the U/23 mens title.

It is great to see this sort of action happening so close to Sydney & on a course that is nice & challenging. BUT, as with all events it takes a dedicate team of volunteers to help keep things on track.

Again, Parramatta Cycling Club excelled with no less then 55 volunteers, doing jobs like, corner marshalling, canteen, bbq duties, they even had a refreshment car dropping off nice hot coffee to the cold/wet marshalls. Without this support races cannot be held. So to all the mum's & dad's, fellow riders out there, get on out & help out at the races. The old saying goes no helpers, no racing.
