Licence and Membership Types

 

 

 

 

General Membership

 

(Including Derny riders)

  • A (domestic) racing licence that enables participation in cycling competition conducted under the auspices of CA or any of its constituent state associations and affiliated clubs. 
  • Valid for 12 months (Calendar year ? January to December)
  • New Members may purchase after 1 October the preceding year, thus providing up to 15 months inaugural membership
  • Encompasses a comprehensive package of insurance cover
  • Provides eligibility to compete in Australian Championships, represent Australia or apply for an international licence 
  • Derny riders are deemed to be competitors and therefore must take out full membership
  • For all other instances where motor cycles are used (eg. Kierins, motor pacing, escorts for road races and MTB cross-country etc) the rider must be a member and hold a current motorcycle licence

 

"Ride-It" Membership
  • Non-competitive membership
  • Provides membership and liability insurance benefits for people such as office bearers, officials, coaches and commissaires who do not participate in racing
  • Provides for participation in organised recreational and training rides
  • Special introductory discount membership applies as a value- add

 

6-Month Discount Membership
  • Targeting people seeking membership in second half of the year; available for the last six months of each year at a discounted capitation rate.
  • Available for purchase between 1 July and 30 September each year
  • Provides full membership benefits for the period from purchase through to 31 December each year.

 

International Licence
  • For riders seeking to compete in an overseas country or in a UCI calendar event and for officials traveling with teams overseas
  • Must have a current full membership licence (domestic) in order to take out an International Licence
  • Riders must also purchase separate international travel insurance that provides cover whilst competing and training before licence can be issued.

 

Kids Licence
  • An easy way for young riders under 13 years who want to learn some skills.
  • An inexpensive non racing licence restricted to club activities targeting development of basic skills
  • Pathway to J-Cycle and junior membership

 

Day Permit
  • A temporary membership permit valid for one (1) race/event
  • Provides insurance benefits for the duration of the event only
  • Not valid for state and national championship events and restricted for some other major events, as determined by CA/state association

 

Registered Promoter
  • For entities other than affiliated Clubs and States seeking to promote cycling events.  Contact CA office for details.
