With some age categories not receiving sufficient entry
numbers (3 entries) to hold a valid championship, the
following age categories have been combined. MMAS8 and
MMAS9 will be MMAS8/9. WMAS3 and WMAS4 will be WMAS3/4.
WMAS5 and WMAS7 will be WMAS5+. Start times will be
available later this afternoon.

Championships 2008 will be staged at the Dunc Gray

2008 UCI Junior World Track Championships- Cape Town:
Australian Juniors are continuing their domination at the Junior World Track Cycling Championships in South Africa.
At the completion of day 2 of track competition Australia has won 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 bronze medal.
NSW Juniors, of which we have 7 members in this years team are performing admirably with Megan Dunn, Dubbo CC (Scratch Race), Ashley Ankudinoff, St George CC (Individual Pursuit) and our Junior Men’s Team Pursuit Team
of which Luke Davison Sydney CC was a member donning the
world championship jerseys, whilst Scott Law, Illawarra
CC & Peter Lewis, Hunter District CC were members of the
Team Sprint taking out the silver medal, while Paul
Fellows rode courageously to win bronze in the Keirin.
Congratulations must also go to our Team Management and Coaching staff, who under the guidance of our maestro head coach, Gary Sutton have done a
marvellous job in getting our riders to the required levels coming off our winter season.

Urgent Help Required for NSW Road Championships & Kurrajong Classic:
Cycling NSW and Parramatta CC require HELP to run the NSW U19, U23 Men and Elite Men & Women NSW Open Road championships at Kurrajong on Sunday 3rd August.
The circuit is approximately 33klms. Help us to protect our riders and the general public and witness the races unfold. Up to 50 officials and volunteers are required for these events to enable us to comply with Traffic Management Plan requirements as well as Cycling NSW Championship rules and race conditions.
We are not asking for an all day commitment, help during one event only would suffice!
We need:
1 x Lead vehicle and driver
8 x Spares vehicles plus drivers
8 x assistants for spares vehicles to help change wheels in need etc.
BBQ cooks
Volunteers to deliver refreshments to Officials and volunteers around course.
Some petrol money will be paid for volunteers using their cars.

NSW Commissaires Meeting:
on
the 16th August at 10am the NSW College
Commissaires meeting will take place at DGV conference
room. We are calling for nomination to the technical
commission at this time also. The general business of
the meeting will be a forum/seminar to discuss rule
changes, the role of commissaire before and after his
appointment and more.
A full agenda will be sent prior to the meeting if
there is are any items you wish to have discussed please
forward, to
bill.clinch@bigpond.com
For those
wishing to be nominated to the NSW technical commission
to be received by Cycling NSW by the close of business
on Friday 18th of July 08.
We are all aware that it will be difficult for some people to get to the meeting,
and we will endeavour in the
next 6 months to make arrangements in the various
country divisions to come out a conduct similar
seminars. We will look at the calendar and try where
possible tie in with an event. Please indicate your
attendance or not by Monday 11 August for catering
purposes.

Cycling NSW Membership sets new record:
Cycling NSW membership on Friday 4th July passed last years record membership of 5,176 members. Currently sitting at 5,204 members and with 6 month licenses now available, CEO Kevin Young is confident our membership will reach 5,400 members for 2008. The lucky winner of the $50 fuel voucher for being the 5,177th member to affiliate in 2008 goes to Penrith Panthers Cameron Weekes. Congratulations Cameron and thankyou to all Clubs for getting behind our growth initiatives throughout the year.
